My Life in Boxes
The good things about moving:
1. I found that Bon Jovi CD that I've been missing...
2. I get to play with tape...
3. It's a workout...
Ok...so that list should have ended with #1.
I have had a few inquiries about a house-warming party. I have never been to one, been invited to one, etc, so I don't really know what this means aside from inviting people to my house. Can someone please tell me how one goes about having a house-warming party? If we were to have one, should I fix dinner for everyone or have finger foods or something? Who should be invited, etc? As you can see, I know nothing. I think it would be fun to have people over in our new house, but I don't know the first thing about doing this. Any ideas or information would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Here's my thoughts on the house warming thing. You should invite your closest friends and family (because, people who aren't very close with you may be happy for you, but not as interested, if this makes since). You can either have finger foods, and make it sort of a "open house" or get together, or you could have a cook out, and ask people to pitch in with food and drinks. I wouldn't go to the trouble of cooking a whole meal for a fairly big group. You also could do just desserts and drinks. If you do this, you could plan it for an evening, after dinner time (like 7 p.m or something). Or, you could just have several smaller dinners, and make it more intimate, by inviting just one or two families at a time.
Oh well, things to think about. (BTW, I know you're trying to figure out ways to do this without my finding out about it. Well, you can't. I will find out, and I WILL be there, no matter how much you try to hide it from me)
Oh, also, Chris has been listening to Bon Jovi lately too. Funny. Sorry this is so long.
OK, it needs to be a full five course sit down meal. Candlelight, linen and fresh flowers. Soft music. Candles and flowers in every room since that is what people want to see. Oh, and black tie, of course. JUST KIDDING! I think the open house, finger food idea is good. But don't rush into this. You guys need a break. Plan it later.
Love ya, Brenda
Mom just said that about the open house thing because she doesn't want you asking her to pitch in for a cook out. She's so lazy, and always prowling around like a scavenger looking for ways to get soome free grub.
You guys are crazy...ya know....jesse is crazy too...it must run in the family...
Thanks for the ideas. Oh, and Amy...I've decided on the date...how about June 2-3 (anyone know what hours Amy will be at the expo?) Just kidding. We'll probably have family over early and then gradually have different friends over. I've had inquiries from friends at work and that's really why I asked. These people are friends, but not like super close and not very "intimate". Maybe I can invite them over for a game night/house warming or something. Ta ta til morning. :)
