When God Spoke to Job

I noticed something very interesting about the book of Job...

Go read it and come back and I'll tell you my thoughts. When God speaks to Job is probably around chapter 37...but don't hold me to it. :)

So, come back in a few days and I'll add my two cents of what I saw while I read it.

UPDATE:

Still no job...
Sister still in jail...
3 Men below filled position with someone else, but they are still interested in me for a different position. That interview is set for Monday 2:00 p.m.

Silent No More

I realize that I have sort-of abandoned the blog world for a brief amount of time as I have been spending so much time updating my personal web space. Which, I just have to shout and praise God that I have been doing this! The web site (as I am revamping it) has turned out to be one that I am very pleased with and the layout is amazing! Want to know the best part?

Today I went to a job fair and was asked if I had any experience with editing web content from a web site. I told him that I am very good at HTML. My interviewer was completely illiterate regarding computer terminology, so I told him, I could give him the URL to my web site and show him what I am capable of doing. He was impressed that I had my own web site and that I write all the coding in HTML (...no editors or WYSIWYG for me...). I got to go to my web site on his laptop and show him this new thing that I have been working on the past few days. He was very impressed. I definitely sold myself well to this man, who I shall furthermore call man #1 (aka Vice President of company).

I left the job fair on cloud 9 and was further elated when I received a call back less than 2 hours later asking me to return to the job fair to interview with the President of the company. That interview went very well, too. Then, I had a third interview with another man. I really felt the annointing of the Lord on two of the three men, but I also know the third man is a Christian. Man #1 is related to man #3 and these are the two where I really felt the Spirit. Man #2 is the president and Man #1 told me the president goes on mission trips to Africa several times a year. I am rejoicing at the hope God has given to me about the possibilities with this company.

The position is newly created and they aren't exactly sure what they are looking for. I was able to help them see their areas of need and place my skills into those needs and suggest improvements already. I am so looking forward to this job and I just pray that you will all agree with me in prayer that the Lord will move on these mens' hearts to provide a response quickly. I have 3 weeks left to find a job and they made it sound like it will take 2 weeks to make the decision. I really need to know sooner, but I am ecstatic nonetheless. Just note...I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket...this is just the one that lights that little fire in me. :)

A Wild Hair

Lately, I've had a lot of time to play around on the computer. I've been playing around with "graphic design" a little bit again. Maybe not so much design as taking photos and editing them, creating "banners" (like the one at the top of my blog) and other miscellaneous little things.

I am redesigning my personal web site: http://www.angelfire.com/retro/homefries

Right now, the main purpose of the site is to share pictures with family that may not get to see Shep often enough. Well...Shepard had just celebrated his 1st birthday when I last updated it. He celebrated his 3rd birthday last month. So, I am going to reorganize some things and give it a brighter and more professional look.

So...please check out my site now as it will be changing in the next week or so. I have some of the new graphics designed, but I haven't figured out the plan for the new site yet. :) I am also going to create a completely separate site as sort-of a tribute to the Kennedy Covered Bridges. (The fat smash post is still in the works. I can't preach it until I actually start it again.)

A Breath of Fresh Air

This week has been full of activity, but I have not been plagued with worries. Grandma Jo has gone to be with the Lord. Every time I think about it, I see images of Grandma Jo running through the gates of heaven with her hands held high, as in victory. She fought the good fight and she won.

I no longer have to worry about how my sister may be inflicting harm on herself. She was arrested again Monday evening. This time she was arrested with five counts against her. We are expecting at minimum that she will get a 9 month sentence. If they give her the maximum, then we are looking at up to 20 years. I pray that the Lord's will be done.

This whole being off work thing has been alright. It is good that I have been off work while all this stuff is going on. Here in the next few days things will settle down and I will be able to start job hunting again. I think that's the complete update since the last time I wrote. I still feel a little exhausted. My body is playing catch-up from all that I have gone through. Soon, I'll start being a Fat-Smasher again! Fat Smashing...that's a post for another day! :)
